Costa and MSC cruise spa: prices, thermal areas and massages

Costa and MSC spa guide: what is included, what is paid, loyalty and cabin benefits, thermal areas, massages, hairdresser, barber, beauty salon and Technogym fitness.

Costa Cruises spa prices: where to check your sailing

For thermal-area admission, spa packages and massages, check the offer available for your booking in MyCosta and the spa price list onboard. Compare the same service: duration, number of sessions, access hours and any treatments included.

A price photographed on Costa Pacifica does not establish the price on Costa Toscana or Costa Smeralda. Before buying, ask whether the offer covers thermal-area access, a treatment, or both, and check booking and cancellation conditions.

Cruise spa: quick answers for Costa and MSC

Is the spa free?

Usually no. Thermal areas and treatments are normally paid, while the gym is included on both Costa and MSC.

How much is it?

There is no single fleet-wide online price list; prices vary by ship, treatment and booking time.

Hairdresser and barber?

Yes. Costa and MSC offer hair and beauty services; MSC lists hairdressing on all ships while barber service is only on selected ships.

Is the gym included?

Yes. Gym access is included on both lines. MSC lists Technogym® gyms on all ships.

Are all Costa spas the same?

No. Spa size and facilities vary significantly by ship. Larger vessels may include thalassotherapy pools, saunas, hammams and special salt or snow rooms, while smaller ships can have more compact wellness centres.

Costa Toscana and Costa Smeralda feature large Solemio Spa areas with salt and snow rooms. Costa Serena and Fascinosa have large two-deck wellness areas, while Costa Deliziosa has a more compact Solemio Spa.

Massages, hairdresser, manicure and beauty salon

Costa states that every ship has a beauty salon offering manicure, pedicure, haircut and hairstyling. Barber services are available only on some ships. Spa treatments and massages are normally paid and prices are displayed onboard.

Costa Cruises gym: equipment and personal training

Gym access is included in the cruise fare. Several Costa ships feature Technogym equipment. OneSpaWorld fitness centres typically include treadmills, ellipticals, exercise bikes, rowing and stair machines as well as strength equipment, although exact models vary by ship.

Paid personal training is available. OneSpaWorld also offers body-composition analysis, nutrition consultation and weight-management programmes, subject to availability on each ship and sailing.

Is a weight-loss programme worth doing on a cruise?

On a seven-night holiday, using the gym and learning a sustainable exercise routine may make more sense than treating the cruise as a short-term weight-loss programme. On a long voyage or World Cruise, however, a structured activity routine can be useful because guests live onboard for weeks or months.

MSC Aurea Spa, beauty and thermal area

MSC lists MSC Aurea Spa, the thermal area, beauty salon and hairdresser as available across the fleet, although the exact facilities vary by ship. Hairdressing is listed on all MSC ships; barber service is available only on selected vessels.

The thermal area is normally a paid service and is reserved for guests aged 18 or over. Pre-cruise purchases can offer savings compared with onboard prices.
